How to Implement a School Participatory Budget in an Educational Institution: Free Online Course

  The educational online platform Zrozumilo! has launched the course “School Participatory Budget for Educational Institutions”, which helps teachers learn how to integrate the school participatory budget into the educational process. The School Participatory Budget (SPB) contributes to shaping conscious and influential Ukrainian citizens. Its implementation involves active engagement from three key participant groups: representatives of local self-government bodies; representatives of educational institutions (trainers); students. This course is designed for trainers who will facilitate the implementation of SPB in schools and guide students through the entire process. Over six lectures, participants will learn: the role of the trainer in implementing SPB; the stages and roles within SPB; how to conduct training sessions for students; how project voting and winner selection take place; how to implement projects; how and why to use the e-democracy platform e-DEM. The lectures include links to implementation documents, presentations, checklists, instructions for working with the electronic system, and other useful materials. Who is this course for? The course materials will be useful for representatives of educational institutions who wish to become trainers and help students navigate the school participatory budget process.
