The reconstruction of a local hospital in Makariv in Kyiv Region Project

19/ 12/ 2022
KSE Foundation is leveraging the efforts towards work on the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure of the liberated cities and towns of Ukraine and is inviting socially responsible business and organizations to become our partner in rebuilding our country, starting with our model project in Makariv.    View the project presentation During the military invasion of the Russian Federation to the territory of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the Kyiv School of Economics Charitable Foundation (KSE CF) and Ukrainian businesses and state-owned companies launched a charitable campaign for Ukraine and collected 40 mln dollars. We have already invested 150,000 dollars in the recovery of Makariv, and leveraged the rest of the funds for the support of the army, humanitarian response, and medical supplies. Until March 22, Makarov was occupied by Russian troops, who were destroying everything in their path. In particular, the dispensary of the Makariv Primary Health Care Center was completely destroyed. We are convinced that the fastest possible restoration of the medical infrastructure of this small village is critically necessary to ensure the quality of life of the local community. The population of the Makariv is 27 000 people - about 70% of people already returned to their homes after evacuation. On average, Makariv clinic provides medcare to 3500 children and 13500 adults with a daily capacity of 100 patients. But after the facility was destroyed, to get to the nearest clinic people need to travel 15 km. That is challenging for elderly, people with small children, people with disabilities or simply for locals without a vehicle. Therefor, KSE Foundation team joined forces with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the Municipal Non-Commercial Enterprise “Makariv Center for Primary Health Care” and Ukrgasbank to rebuild and fully restore the work of the dispensary in the Makariv village in the Kyiv region. We are looking forward to implementing a holistic project - besides providing regional primary healthcare the facility will serve as a training HUB for professionals working with trauma from Kyiv region and beyond. KSE Foundation has approved the general contractor for the main works on the project to rebuild the Makariv medical clinic. It became the construction company “RBT GROUP”. The company has 15 years of experience in the construction industry, during which time its builders have built more than 100 objects throughout Ukraine: industrial and agro-industrial complexes, residential buildings, factories and much more. We are glad to share more information about our organization. KSE is an undergraduate and graduate school of economics and management in Kyiv, Ukraine, founded in 1996 by the Economics Education and Research Consortium (EERC) and the Eurasia Foundation. The KSE Charitable Foundation was established in 2007 as a subsidiary of its non-profit corporation in the United States, initially focusing on providing scholarships for its students. In times of war we are extending our capacity to provide the emergency humanitarian response and contribute to the long-term goals of recovery. We are inviting to take part in the fundraiser and become our partner to deliver meaningful help for the villagethat will help the community bring decent standards of living and become the HUB for training specialists on providing help to people with traumas. There are different ways to get involved - to acquire naming rights or establish a symbolic brick.
