The ЕВА took part in a round table on cooperation between business and regulatory authorities in the environmental sphere On 15 October, the European Business Association joined the round table “Cooperation Between the Business Community and Regulatory Authorities in the Field of Environmental Protection Amid Russia’s Military Aggression”, chaired by Ihor Zubovych, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine. The event was also attended by Borys Indychenko, Head of the Specialised Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, and Oleksandr Subotenko, Acting Head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine. During the discussion, participants addressed key issues of state supervision (control) in the field of environmental protection under wartime conditions, market surveillance of fuel safety, as well as the creation of fair and transparent conditions for doing business. The European Business Association emphasised that the introduction of additional planned and unplanned state inspections could significantly complicate business operations and require extra organisational and human resources, particularly at a time when companies are focused on ensuring staff safety, maintaining uninterrupted operations, and fulfilling priority tasks. Following the meeting, the business community agreed to consolidate its proposals and submit them to the Ministry for further consideration. The findings will form the basis for a joint strategy to improve the system of state environmental control. The EBA thanks the Ministry for organising the meeting and appreciates the government’s readiness for constructive dialogue on issues important to the business community and for jointly seeking effective solutions in the field of environmental regulation.
